The Lens of Attraction

The “Law of Attraction” isn’t really a law of course. It’s just a lens – a way of looking at reality and interpreting events. When you use this lens, you consider a potential relationship between your thoughts, feelings, attitudes, or vibes and the events and circumstances that occur in your life. You look at events as having a lot to do with your inner state and not just your worldly behaviors.

I’ve found this to be a useful lens myself, which is why it’s part of my toolbox, but I don’t treat it as a law of reality. It’s just one perspective to consider when making decisions or working on goals. It’s a tool, not a truth about reality.

These days this particular lens mostly sits in the back of my toolbox because I usually find it too basic. It was fun to use 10-15 years ago, and I enjoyed the playful LoA-based experiments I did back then, such as the Million Dollar Experiment. Today I prefer a more comprehensive set of lenses that are well-explained in the Deep Abundance Integration and Submersion courses.

The current way that I frame the lens of attraction is that it was a useful pointer to other lenses that have been more practical and potent. It’s not a lens I use very much today explicitly, except perhaps when I’m talking to someone who’s really into it and I want to speak their language.

That said, I do think it’s an interesting lens to test for yourself and experiment with. Just beware the trap of treating it like a law. Be sure to progress to more sophisticated lenses when this one starts to bore you.
