A good watch - does it lend weight to the proposition of conspiracy theorists that the assassin (Sirhan Sirhan) of Senator Robert Kennedy was hypnotised into doing so?

It certainly proves it is possible to hypnotise people into doing such things.

It doesn't prove that. He's a magician. His act is not making people do things, it's making people think that he's making people do things.

I like to watch Derren Brown videos. He's pulling off really cool mind tricks.
Problem is that it's easy to fake this stuff (using fake "victims" e.g.). But i tend to believe he's doing the tricks.

Derren Brown and the other guy whos name I forget (he was in the iceblock, and allegedly put his hand through his chest and felt his heart) are TV gimmicks. Yes - they are talented, but in the way of illusion and mis-direction, not ESP & mind control. What is to stop all the people on these shows being in on it and being paidf in advance?

Sorry - but these guys dont have super powers, they are regular people like you & me. Leave that stuff to Spidey & Clark Kent.

There's a thread on here with a link to The Superman Project. That was one of the most gripping reads I've read online. It was this guy who was trying to remember all the stuff the CIA or government or Nazis or whoever they were put him through. It is really long, but really interesting reading. Supposedly this guy is now in jail for something he was probably hypnotized to do...but it's a really good story about a guy who was totally brainwashed by the government or the elites of the world...or something like that.

Brown always points out that he's just using tricks. He's taking a skeptic standpoint and speaks out against people who claim that they have real supernatural powers (faith healers, psychics, etc.). I sympathize with this attitude.

Nothing that Derren did in this case needs ESP or other paranormal stuff.

When Derren Brown is using tricks he points it out at the beginning of the show.

As far this experiment and "The heist" goes in both times he didn't.

The fact that getting people to throw acid at another person works is quite well documented. I think there's even a scientific paper that documents it.

I don't think there's any reason to believe that the stuff that Derren did in this experiment should be impossible.

It was this guy who was trying to remember all the stuff the CIA or government or Nazis or whoever they were put him through.

It's pretty easy to create fake memories when you try hard to remember stuff.
