I am happy for her. She didn't do it. If you read the info about the case - it sounded like the prosecutor instantly decided she was guilty and twisted and ignored all other contrary evidence. I'm actually going to be making a donation to the Amanda Knox fund. I hope she comes out with a book and or movie. |

I think the evidence was very weak, but she did herself no favors by lying. Had she consistently told the truth from the beginning or simply refused to speak without a lawyer and interpreter, I think she probably would have avoided jail.

That's exactly why I think she was lucky. Why lie and accuse her boss of being involved if you really don't know anything about it? This wasn't a car accident, this was a murder and she's lying?! People have been incarcerated in this country with similar circumstantial evidence surrounding them - who are also claiming they're innocent. Pretty goes a long way in this world so there will always been some doubt in my mine as to what her involvement or participation was in all this. Regardless, she'll be rich in a few weeks, so not to worry about the parents.

The whole thing was a complete circus and I'm glad she was acquitted. She said she lied because of the way the police were interrogating her. Considering the crazy narrative that the prosecution spun in the courtroom, who knows what really happened? I feel bad for the Kerchers, of course, but I don't think there's any motive at all for Amanda and her boyfriend to have done that -- the "drug fueled sex game" story was so ludicrous... weed doesn't do that to people. I DO think she's lucky, though, because a re-trial like that never would have happened in the United States, under double jeopardy. Not to mention that she would have been on Death Row, not just facing 26 years. She could have appealed, of course, but they wouldn't have reviewed all the evidence from the case again. |

Plus, the fact that she was a 20 year old American female studying abroad, and I have also been a 20 year old American female studying abroad, made me a little more interested than I probably would have been otherwise.

She's a hotty, murderer or not. Any other opinion that I have on the subject, is neither here nor there. I always wondered what would happen if the people paying so much attention to everyone else, would put that same effort into personal development. Kinda inline with that one thread that asked " why do you follow the news?" it's called a rubber necker. |

Humans like to follow story lines and then give their opinions on them because it gives them a sense of importance. You have over 8,500 posts, something tells me that you have been extremely active on at least more than one issue that didn't matter in the greater scale.

The media loves to latch onto young, attractive females who are accused of crimes. If Amanda Knox was in her 50's, 300 lbs., and a heavy smoker, nobody would even know about her. She would probably still be in jail, anonymous to most of the world. It's good the media got her out of jail, but what about the rest of the people unjustly behind bars? What are we going to do to set them free? |
