I was actually traveling in an Arab country at the time. Never seen so many machine guns in my life. My full account at my blog post about 9/11. Where were you and what were you doing on 9/11? |

I had just gotten up and had just let the dog out. The phone rang and I let Voicemail pick it up. I checked the Voicemail and my friend Bob had left a message. In a grim voice, he'd said, "You probably should turn on the TV."

One of my business partners was sleeping on the floor in his office. Called him up, said we got attacked, he didn't believe me. Most of the merchants just stood outside around Purdue University. The lines for gasoline were long and tremendous.

Amazing how everyone knows exactly where they were and what they were doing at that terrible time, whereas I can hardly remember what I did last week! I was in my office in Gaborone, Botswana when my husband called to say 2 planes had hit the buildings. Watching coverage later that day was shocking to say the least. Thoughts and prayers to those families who lost friends and loved ones. |

I was outside helping my boyfriend at the time, build his aviary. he had just thrown a brick at my dogs head (he missed)...which I was outraged about, and then I went inside and saw the news report. |

Of course only about 7 people showed up for the music videos presentation. It was a bit horrifying when the video started out with Prince's '1999.' I wondered how long it would be before radio station program directors would feel like it was okay to play that song again. | |

I as in a new job orientation and we got pulled out of class just in time to see the second plane hit a girl that was in class with us starting crying and said that her sister worked in that building -we felt horrible for her -but the good news was that she was able to get through to her sister a half hour later and found out that she had overslept and that she was on the bridge when it happened the whole thing was craziness ! |

I was asleep in bed when it happend. But I do remember exactly where I was when I heard about it. I actually saw the news report on my computer when I got to uni in the morning (I guess it was the 12th in Australia by then though). Even though it happened so far away, it brought me to tears and I bawled (glad the other guy who shared my office hadn't come in yet!). And yet later, when someone asked me if I'd heard, I just said, "yes, I heard" in a really blank way... because it's the only way I can deal with stuff like that without breaking down again. They probably thought I was a cold hearted *******! |
