US mass media is hyped up to stir up emotions and make everybody uncomfortable. Following the news is masochistic and futile. Most things the US media reports are distorted and false. This is not a partisan statement - I dislike and avoid CNN as much as Fox news..... I occasionally read the Economist in bookstores but lately I only visit a financial forum where I can get some news with the lense of the posters - ten times better than reading one day old news in the paper. TV is just as obscure and filled with garbage reporting. Stop paying for cable... I offer you a stress free life - just avoid US media.....you will thank me later Last edited by Andras; 09-05-2011 at 03:02 PM. |

This subforum "World Affairs" could probably be renamed to "Conspiracy theories" or "My negative beliefs about why I can't have nice things", and it would still be an accurate description of 90% of threads here.
