Default What Medical Doctor is Running for U.S. President in 2012

What medical doctor is running for U.S. president in 2012? If he wins, will he be called Mr President or Dr President? He says that legal drugs kill more Americans than illegal drugs! He says that the war on drugs kills more people than the illegal drugs. He asks if heroin is made legal to use tomorrow, would you start using it? Would you? Would you start using any illegal drugs if they were made legal?

Probably Ron Paul...I know from reading Dr. Mercola's website that Ron Paul is a doctor. While he has no chance in hell of winning, I admire him for his anti-establishment beliefs, but the powers that be will most likely never let him even be a figurehead president...

Ron Paul, final answer!

He's got my vote this election, and this time he has enough support to win it! If you check out the polls, he consistently places between 1st and 3rd, where last election at this time he was at like 1%.

Ron Paul would have to be much better at rhetoric to win. He's more of a rational principled idea man than a public performer, which is essentially what a President is in this age of show business. See this book, Chomsky, or McLuhan.

Anyway, it's moot since a government is a belief system. Why waste your time symbolically voting or being a spectator to players in a system that acts as an imaginary daddy.

Just do what you consciously choose and let other people get out of your way or join you.

Ron Paul 2012!!! He is the only logical choice. I also like Gary Johnson, but he is where Paul was in 2008 with out much hope. Ron Paul wins most of the polls by a landslide.

See Gabo under you. Yes it is a fact that the earth is flat. Yes it is a fact that the sun orbits around the earth. Yes it is a fact that the flu (influenza) is caused by the influence of the stars. But these facts are no longer true. Your info about Ron Paul is history just like the above.

Isn't morphine much closer to heroin than oxys?

The CPAC audience isn't representative.

Ron Paul doesn't place under the first three places in representative Gallup Polling.
Majority of Republicans Can't Name a 2012 Favorite places Ron Paul for example at 1%.

I would like it if Ron Paul would win but I don't think it's a realistic scenario.

Oxycontin (oxycodone) is a semi-synthetic opioid. heroin is diacetylmorphine, a semi-synthetic opioid derived from morphine. Morphine and oxycontin have very similar chemical structures (and both are somewhat similar in structure to heroin), and thus have similar effects. So I suppose they are considered relatively equivalent in terms of effects and chemical composition (in general).

From the pharmacy class I took, I know that many people who abuse oxycontin may tend to turn to heroin when the addiction becomes too pricey, because the effects on the reward pathway are the same.
