Indian (India) guy who wants to be in Western Europe, unrealistic?

So I am an Indian (India) guy, parents came to the US when I was young and I have been in the US for a while, my English is fluent. Currently I am 19 and hope to learn some other languages (I am starting).

Thing is when I was a little kid I lived in France and honestly, I kinda miss Europe.

Now here are my concerns.

1. Is it possible for me to live in a Western European country or be a citizen there?

2. Are Indians hated just as much as Muslims and illegal immigrants there?

I've noticed all the threads that you've started. You seem pretty angst-filled. You particularly seem to have lots of issues about sex and race. Relax, yeah? Most of the problems are in your own head.

That's about 20,000,000 Indians living outside India. If they were all hated or if they all couldn't get sex, the NRI population would have died out.

Well this fellow doesn't really seem like he wants to be around a lot of other Indians anyway - at least I'm not getting the feeling that he want to. I think he just want to be sure that he lands in a place where he won't get discriminated against. But like I implied in other threads, one's character can rise above much racism. And any lingering racism left over are not even worth the time thinking about it.

I've lived outside India for 17 years, and have been living in India for the last two. No problems on either side. You'll be fine, mate. There are dozens of us around you wherever you go.

People in my town say mean things about the Indians who just bought and rehabilitated an old gas station. The place looks great so I don't understand the hate

That's strange. I live in a place with tons of racism against blacks and Hispanics, but even those openly racist against those two groups I've never heard say anything negative about Indians. But...I don't live in Western Europe, either.

It all differs in different places. I know that Indonesians were kind of racist against immigrant Chinese there because the Chinese started to develop all the bigger businesses and acquired all the wealth as a result. This same backlash happened in Kenya when the enterprising people there were Indian immigrants.

Ignore everything you hear or see on TV about racism or xenophobia in Europe. From my point of view, they usually distort the reality about this issue. I'm not going to deny that there're some problems with immigration, but they're far from being as they're shown in mass media.

Of course, the situation differs from country to country. For instance, here in Spain xenophobic people tend to be hostile towards immigrants from Romania (specifically romanian gypsies), Muslims and Latin Americans, since they're the largest communities. Fortunately racists are a minority.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never witnessed any racist/xenophobic act neither in Spain nor in any other european country (I lived in the UK, France and Belgium and travelled to a few more). Maybe some unfortunate remarks, but you know, idiots are anywhere.

I can only speak for Berlin and what I observe as a white male.
As far as I see it there's less racism against Indians then against Muslims.

The fact that you don't see never consciously witnessed a racist act might say more about yourself than it says about the place in which you are living.
