Default What Fueled the Rise of Hitler

Just finished " The Alchemy of Air" .

Fritz Haber's discovery of Ammonia and other nitrates was the main reason behind First world war.

That fueled the rise of Hitler , who was appointed Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and he also asked Fritz to leave Germany . Even though he converted to Christianity.

Great Read.

The Treaty of Versailles was one of the main reasons Hitler was able to come to power. Germany got spanked pretty hard after World War I.

World War I was started because of the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

Thanks for info.

I WW is also known as the war of Chemists.

For the first time gases were used in a War. When French army entered Germany they tried to get the formula for various chemicals from BASF.

It was the 2nd WW that got prolonged because of use of Nitrate Compounds as Explosives by Germany , manufactured in BASF and Bosch was head of the company .

They say had USA fighter Pilots bombarded the factory earlier , War would have been over in Few days.

...and don't forget the super-inflation of the mark and very bad economy in Germany and worldwide.
