Default History: Abd el-Kader and the Massacre of Damascus

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the Spirituality folder, but I decided on here because it's a history piece.

Rany on the Royals: Abd el-Kader and the Massacre of Damascus.

I find this incredibly beautiful and moving, and reminds me of the stories of the Muslims who attended the Coptic Christmas Mass this past January as human shields.

FWIW, it's actually got nothing to do with Egypt whatsoever.

Thanks for sharing

One of the comments described Randy's piece as a gift and that seems like a very apt way of putting it. It is nice to hear of people who possess such respect for humanity regardless of religion. Especially when the media is saturated with events depicting the 'hatred' and 'incompatibility' between Muslims and Christians.
