On October 14, Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change skeptic, gave a presentation at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. In this 4 minute excerpt from his speech, he issues a dire warning to all Americans regarding the United Nations Climate Change Treaty, scheduled to be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009. Lord Monckton served as a policy adviser to Margaret Thatcher. He has repeatedly challenged Al Gore to a debate to which Gore has refused. Monckton sued to stop Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth" from being shown in British schools due to its inaccuracies. The judge found in-favor of Monckton, ordering 9 serious errors in the film to be corrected. Lord Monckton travels internationally in an attempt to educating the public about the myth of global warming.

Al Gore is a Climate Change celebrity, rather than a scientist. The only reason why anybody would want to debate him on the topic of Climate Change would be for publicity. This whole business is nothing but a publicity stunt, and it will be ignored by anybody with serious scientific credentials.

My American freedom went into the toilet when the unconstitutional Patriot Act was passed back during the Bush administration. Why would I be worried about the Lisbon Treaty, which reforms how another set of countries are governed?

Why would I be scared of laws that cut down on emissions? Carbon emissions go hand-in-hand with dirty energy such as coal and oil. How would cleaner air and water be bad for my "freedom" ?

It's all in how it's done. And if liberty vanishes here, what are we to do if there's no place else to go? The freedom of another often correlates to my own freedom, directly or no.

The Patriot Act was and is an abomination! What a incorrect name for that piece of legislation. Welcome to the new world and the future.
