Where I used to work, there was a saying, there is always something to do. Looking around at the people I know, their lives, their homes, there is always something that can be done to make things better in one way shape or form. Of course, I highly doubt I'm the only one. In all cities, there are works to be done, forgotten projects, money being wasted etc. On top of all this waste of time, money and energy, is also effort. People out there that aren't working or are working, or those that just work to keep the status quo. This is where I see the most untapped resource. People, efforts and time, and their geometric effect on the world around them. I can't imagine what it would be like, if a few million people were trained and skilled into something that actually made a difference in the way the world works. But there is more than just a few million out there. I saw a statistic of a 9% unemployment rate for may. That means out of 305 million americans that is 27 million whom time and efforts aren't been maximized. If you extrapolate into other areas of the world, I can't imagine what that number would be if extrapolated further. What could you imagine if so many people combined into complimentary networks of masterminds? I personally find it kind of fun. |

It is kinda fun to imagine, yet telling and frustrating too. Fun cos its imagining a new motivation &unity in the world. Telling cos its all microcosmic &the best way to change the world is to change ourselves. Frustrating cos we begin to realize the average default mode is apathy &self absorbed. I guess it would take an Oprah to mobilize and move the masses to a new participation style. What do you visualise? From my lil perspective on the tip of Africa i can just imagine integrating and massively boosting community services. If masses of people gave time &energy to the unmet needs of pensioners, prisoners, orphans, invalids, the unemployed etc...wow we would have the start of a new earth! Its easy to imagine, action is effective. Im just the average timid dreamer no mover &shaker but i guess imagining a better world is the first step. What do you think? |
