Hah! It's amazing...

My school has closed for snow, for the first time in apparently...17 years!

I'm just annoyed because I spent 1.5 hours getting into work today and arrived to be told we can go home!

Still at least we can enjoy talking about the weather!

Three inches!?!?!?!

Around these parts, that is considered a heavy frost. Here in Upstate NY (East of Canada), we had three feet of snow a few days ago, and all they did was delay school for two hours.

In all seriousness, Seattle has been getting 'heavy snow' ranging in the inches as well, and they didn't have the equipment to handle it either. They had to borrow plows from Oregon that were usually used to keep the mountain passes clear. I have a friend who recently moved out there from the frozen white north, and she was able to get about in a little FWD Kia, while locals were getting stuck in Jeeps and Subarus. Admittedly, the locals were trying to drive up hills that they probably shouldn't have even tried, while she was smart enough to detour a few blocks around to a less severe incline. She was born and raised out here, and knows how to drive in snow...

Exactly!

It's rubbish. Honestly how do counties like Sweden manage?

We knew it was coming for at least a week, it wasn't unexpected and everything has closed!

That's nothing. In south Texas schools and half the businesses close when we get a bit of ice on the roads!

Enjoy the day off!!

Lots of new record-breaking snowfall and cold temperatures all over the last few years - Al Gore was right!
