Default Congratulations America

Hi All,

I am new but have been active on many forums and hope to do the same here.

Congratulation USA on the inauguration of your new president, President Obama. You are blessed by having the freedom to choose your own leader and not have one forced on you like so many of us do

Obama has already continued to bomb Pakistan, which is bad news.

He has pledged to close Guantanamo Bay, which is a step in the right direction, however, I am not expecting much difference other than the rhetoric when it comes to how we treat other countries. Read the int'l press to get a better picture of reality.

The US media loves him and, I believe, they are afraid to challenge him.

I respect Obama

but one day I would like to see an end to the institution of politics
and human beings implement a cohesive community of individuals working as one for the good of all

but we would have to have a higher consciousness before all that happens

Sadly, Ron Paul can't win until people raise their level of consciousness to realize that our monetary system is rigged in favor of bankers.

He is only going after the bad folks who are hiding in ungovernable territory of Pakistan. He is only continuing doing Bush's job which the Pakistan government is not capable of doing at the moment. He is trying to enforce accountability & responsibility on Pakistan and ensuring the the billions of dollars flowing out of US are used for what it was meant.
The world has a lot of hope & optimism in Obama. We all wish him that he successfully finishes his agenda & helps in making the world more secure and safe.

I suppose the three children that died in the attack were terrorists too?

There always were confirmed reports of how the Taliban was influencing young minds & training young children with guns in hand instead of books. If the 3 children who died where one of those trained, then yes they can be considered as being unwillingly pushed to the brink to become unwilling terrorists. There is also a possibility that they where taken as human shields.

I don't think that question is very helpful. It's war and people die in wars.
The more important issue is the Pakistani response. It gives those people in Pakistan who want to fight the US political power when the US bombs Pakistan.

Talking about this in terms of “bad news” or “bad judgment by business leaders” seems archaic. It’s like describing World War One as “a serious diplomatic concern.”

Wars are fought between countries. Wars are declared.

We are not in a WAR.
We are trying to track down a selected group of people that perpetrated attacks against us. We do not need armies and bombs, we need assassins.

How can we kill innocent people in the name of justice when the crime we are trying to seek retribution for is the killing of innocent people?

Then what would you call a situation where a country indulges in proxy war. They do not declare war as they know that they cannot win. Instead they send terrorists & use terrorism as a state policy. They circulate billions of Rupees in fake currencies, they send their soldiers disguised as local people of the target country & shamelessly don't even come forward to claim their soldiers body for fear of being exposed.

How many assassins will be required to kill Al-Qaida leaders. Can you expect your ally in terror to do the needful especially when the realization has dawned on the US now that their billions are being diverted elsewhere by an incompetent & unwilling ally.

I think in such situations, common & innocent citizens become the targets. Never in the history of Wars ( either covert or overt) have innocent causalities been avoided. That is the Truth.

=============

In a declared War or Proxy War or Guerrilla warfare the first casualty has always been Truth.

In the lunchroom today I asked all my rainbow-and-unicorn-loving O-bomb-a friends, why did their ENLIGHTENED LEADER OF CHANGE just commit a ghastly unconscious act?

It shows me the consciousness hasn't changed one bit.

It shows me I still have to look at where I commit war within myself if I want to see any change in the outer world.

Dev, the first part referred to certain coworkers thinking that all the world will change because Obama got elected. They feel they can sit back, do what they always do, and Obama will save them.

Obama is using war to solve problems. Sound familiar? Is that change? War has been used before all through recorded history. We'd all be fools to think Obama is going to create any change when, in the 4th day of his presidency he chooses war over some other solution. War will give us the same results we've always had in the world. So we are looking at status quo.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. War over and over will give me.... change? No.

The world, Obama, terrorists and all is a reflection on myself in the moment. Looking at the current Obama situation shows me two things about myself.

(1) I'm repeating the old habits and expecting something new to happen.
(2) War with myself (it's a mirror) is still what I'm choosing now.

So I need to look at myself and see where I choose to battle with myself, and stop that, change that, do something.... and see what happens in the mirror (the world) when I do.

Your coworkers like many of us are plain optimistic. They really believe that Obama can change things for the better. It has been the US & the Worlds misfortune that everyone had to suffer 8 years of Bush's inefficient leadership.

I don't think Obama is using war to change things. One might still call it War on Terror, but it is concrete Action and Action is always better than inaction. Only the action has to be based on Intelligent inputs so that innocent people are not affected.

What alternatives do you suggest for what you call as War? Do you expect the new administration to have a round-table conference with Al-Qaida leaders? Or do you feel that even if the US & the world reaches out positively & applies the the balm of love and trust on all Muslims, even then Al-Qaida would stop its hatred towards non-Muslims? Just give a thought to it. I would love to hear from you on this point.
We are dealing with insane people here & no right thinking country/people would love to avoid acting(with force) on this threat. It is our collective Dharma to destroy those who want to establish Adharma on this world.

I really loved your analogy on reflection on oneself vis-a-vis this situation.
It seems your blog isn't working. Would love to read more about you and your thoughts.
