Is anyone here watching the election returns? I'm watching The News Hour on PBS and have CNN and MSNBC online. Looks like McCain has won SC and KY but IN and VA are too close to call so far. INteresting b/c VA has elected a dem. Senator but they can't call the presidential election. McCain add TN, OK, AL, GA Obama add CT, IL, DC, ME, VT, NH, PA, NC, MA, DE Last edited by WordKeeper; 11-05-2008 at 12:36 AM. |

Wow - 10% in FL - that's huge! Great site Angela - thanks. I've been popping back and forth between here and Huffington but I didn't find that page. I love it. Interesting - Maine appears to have elected a republican senator - Collins while voting for Obama for president. Obama got 40% of Collins supporters - 40% split - fascinating! Liddy Dole is out in NC. BIG. Could that all be the "godless" attack on her little known opponent? Looks like VA turnout is a whopping 80%!!! FL - 39% in with a 4% Obama lead. OMG - Nico Pitney on Huffington says NM to Obama - McCain's aide said tonight that McCain needed NM AND AZ to win. Could be bad news for McCain/Palin. NM was a Bush win! Fox just called Ohio for Obama and then retracted it and then Brit Hume calles it again for Obama. Very bad news for McCain FL is getting stronger for Obama. MI and NY for Obama. Now RI. McConnel eeks out a close one in KY. 41% reporting gives Obama a lead in NC. McCain gets KS, WY, ND and AR, WV, LA. FL looking good for Obama but very close - 51-48. I've been buying Rachel Maddow's line about not counting chickens before they hatch - but I'm counting them now. This is mind boggling. I am just waiting to see what happens in VA, NC and FL. I lived in several parts of VA for a total of about 20 years - Alexandria, Charlottesville, Richmond, Newport News. Obama's numbers - win or lose - are kind of amazing to me. |

Indiana is breaking towards Obama, but Missouri is still unknown. We need Missouri for that 375 landslide! 375 is the threshold for a landslide. GOBAMA IN MISSOURI! Also, the race to look at now is Franken in the Senate. Al Franken in Senate and Obama in the White House with a landslide? That is the early Christmas present of the century! |

CBS and FOX are calling VA for Obama - I cannot even wrap my mind around all of this. I'm watching Judy Woodruff at Grant Park in Chicago - everyone there is peaceful and quiet - very surreal. Rev. T.D. Jakes on CNN is talking about what it means to a man whose relative was beaten and thrown in a river simply for being black. Wolf Blitzer and Chris Matthews were talking about how the world is responding to this changing America. It is a new world order - in this one election. All of the republicans are gone from NE - like the loss of an endangered species - very eerie - very strange. |
