On another note, does anyone have a statistic on the number of babies given up for adoption and the rate at which they are placed with families? I don't think any kid should have to be an orphan and I'm not sure how often kids are adopted. I was just wondering that if abortion became illegal than the amount of babies put up for adoption might get larger and therefore more orphans.
Most of the information out there on this is skewed by whether the researcher is pro-life of pro-choice. One site reported that it would take 2 years to satisfy the waiting list of prospective parents if the abortion rate was cut in half and no one else new decided to adopt. An infant usually gets adopted before age 1.

Then you obviously have never been beaten into submission or threatened with a weapon by a rapist if you think all a woman might be as a result of that is "stressed out".

Nor do you seem to understand how suffocating depression and PTSD can be. Adding to that stress is that the doctor will be limited in the drugs he can treat your mental illness with because of the baby that you do not want.

I could see a child of rape as half mine and still love it but I wouldn't say the right of the baby to live would supersede the right of the mother to her health.

If politicians were to ban abortion, they better provide even better welfare for the future of unexpectedly conceived children, and their mothers. It's for the sake of the people and even the sake of their own appeal in order to get elected.

Is there any pro-life politicians out there who's also emphatic on social welfare?
