Default If top candidates can't be fiscally responsible in their own campaigns...

...how can we expect them to be fiscally responsible managing the finances of our Federal Government?

The Associated Press: Obama asks donors to help Clinton with debt

Hillary Clinton's campaign has racked up over $10 million in debt.

It is no wonder we have such catastrophic national debt. Our politicians can't even balance their own checkbooks. Time to wake up, folks.

The two aren't comparable. A Presidential campaign is a one-shot "do or die" project and the Federal Budget is an ongoing concern.

The two should be managed differently, and how you manage one doesn't reflect on how you'd manage the other.

If you can't manage your shopping budget, you can't manage your bank balance

What concerns me most is that Clinton continued to spend large amounts of money campaigning even after it was obvious she wasn't going to win. I cringed every time I heard her asking for more donations from her supporters after losing a primary. I don't understand how you could ask your supporters to keep throwing away money for you to spend on a lost cause. I, for one, would have felt somewhat betrayed, had I given money, time and my vote for her only to be asked again and again for more in the face of certain defeat. I agree that if the candidates don't seem to care about their supporters enough to not treat them like an ATM, then how likely is it they will care enough to be fiscally responsible as president.

I don't think this is limited to Clinton. Sometimes I think that we should find a CEO who has turned around a financially troubled corporation and vote him/her in as president. Although, this conversation doesn't matter if you feel that he national debt is irrelevant (which many people do).

Yea they're not. She loaned $10 mil of her own personal money.... I'm sure that with the people's money she'd be more careful.
