My dream

I have a dream of a world where every person has food security. I have a dream of a world where the human population is self-regulated and not subject to the forces of wars, famines, and plagues to check its growth.

I have a dream that corporations can become the servants of humanity rather than the masters; forces for improving our lives and evening the distribution of wealth rather than exploiters of the many for the benefit of the few.

I have a dream that every person of every occupation -- no matter how low -- can be respected and honored for his service to humanity. And I dream that each person can have the freedom and the expectation to apply his God-given ingenuity to perform his job in the way that provides the greatest benefit to all mankind.

I dream of a world where governments are restrained by Law from encroaching on the rights of the people they govern, a world where people have a right to privacy and freedom from interference into their lives by the governments they create.

I have a dream that every person can understand the laws that govern his rights and obligations. I have a dream that people shall only be brought to justice by other people whom they have wronged, and that these other people will begin to find compassion and mercy for their struggling brethren. I have a dream that when people are brought together before a judge that neither wealth nor station nor gender nor color of their skin shall disadvantage one person in relation to the other before the Law.

I have a dream of a world in which the advances in human understanding are shared freely, a world in which no person is disadvantaged by his own ignorance of a subject other people have since discerned except by his own choosing. I dream of a world where children everywhere are immersed in this vast stream of human knowledge and provided with the tools and teachers they need to navigate its currents and apply it to creating a better world.

I have a dream now.
