Hey, maybe its good he is modifying. Do we really want a President who's policy is so stubborn like Bush's? I think that it would be very irresponsible for us to pull out too quickly. You wait and see though, if Obama is elected we'll still have a base in Iraq whether Obama wants it or not. I think the US military industrial complex is more powerful than we give it credit in its influence over the President instead of vice versa. Time will tell.

I see, "I’ve always said the pace of withdrawal would be dictated by the safety and security of our troops and the need to maintain stability." And, "When I go to Iraq and have a chance to talk to some of the commanders on the ground, I’m sure I’ll have more information and will continue to refine my policies." But that's not a strategy change.

Quite frankly I'm liking Obama more now that he has "refined" his policy about Iraq. The far left said "Get them out now" and Obama used rhetoric that was catered more to the far left to win out over Hillary. Now that he's won the Democratic nomination he will continue to "refine". Hey look, politics is a full contact sport; Obama will not come out unscathed. Its nearly impossible. On Obama's site it says that he will NOT put in any US military bases in Iraq. I would be willing to bet a year's salary that IF he is elected President he will eat these words. Do you think he'll keep that promise?
