I ran across these videos tonight -- it's from an Obama interview at Google in 2007. If you would like a clearer idea of who Obama really is, and exactly what his policies are, these are definitely worth a view.

I didn't want to open a new one, because I already know that some people would call my post stupid.
So I chose a Obama topic where nobody posted any reaction so that I don't disturb a discussion.

Do you people believe that fiction on TV can influence people?

What I mean.

Well up till today no black man made it to come that close to become a president of the USA.

Is it all thanks to the TV series 24?
Never before a such popular series show the spectator for three seasons a Black male president.
The fictional black male president chose to drop out of the race for the next elections in may 2004.

Bush got re-elected in 2004 and there was no black candidate at that moment yet.

People had to catch up first with the next season of 24 to see again a white president that starts to run his career from december 2004 in the fictional US. So like a month after Bush was re-elected in the real world.

Now could it be that people do miss there fictional black male President so that without being conscious of it the want one back in their lives and so Obama made it to become a candidate?

What if 24 showed the viewers three seasons a nice female president? Would Hillary have made it?

I don't think that his race really has anything to do with it. I think that of all of the candidates, he has done the best research. This allows him to best tell people what they want to hear... And his track record in the gov of voting "present" instead of giving an ACTUAL vote allows him to tell people what they want to hear with no proof of his opinion being anything other than what the people wanted to hear. His presidential campaign seems to have been well managed starting from a long time ago.

Yes, especially 24 with it the torturing hero narrative does influence politics, but I don't think that the fact that the president was black has that much of an effect. Might might helped Obama a bit, but I don't think that much.

Is anyone voting Bob Barr of the libertarian party? I figure if you liked Ron Paul then he would be the most natural 2nd choice. Obama, however, would not be (unless your agreement with RP was only on foreign policy or something).
