| Good day I was browsing Digg today and came across this article Incredible pictures of one of Earth's last uncontacted tribes firing bows and arrows | Mail Online. It is amazing that these people maintain their culture for thousands of years and we, supposingly civilized people are fighting over oil and food. It is so beautiful that they can blend in with their environment perfectly. Building a hut in the middle of a jungle, living off the land and walking aroung half naked. I hope they just leave these people alone. I would like to know more about this tribe but I am still happy that they are smart enough to shoot on first contact. Neblasian |

| We'll assimilate and ruin them soon enough.

| Its actually a sad and difficult situation. The loggers are coming closer and closer to them -- with no contact with civilization (and the actual loggers might not know they're there), they don't have the antibodies they would need -- so when they inevitably, accidentially bump into each other its an automatic death sentence. The only real way to save them would be what has been done before, to contact them, and literally *force* them to get on a plane and go get proper medical care, chalked full of antibiotics and what not. Its just loose-loose. On the other hand, as these people have been eating nothing but untampered food, and have had no exposure to all the carcinogens present in our world, I'd love to see what their med stats are, as a curiosity. |

| Well - I'm sure it's less, but they breathe the air. They use the soil, which isn't unaffected. I don't think there's anything, anywhere on earth that's pristine. |

| thats crazy. Makes you wonder what the hell we're doing with cars, buildings, wars, and everything else. Are we evolving or devolving?

| Yeah, you're right. Actually, I read a terrifying statistic, which claimed that the people who have the highest levels of mercury (from pollution) in their bodies are Eskimos living traditional lifestyles, though they don't pollute much, because they eat so much fish that WE have "enriched" with OUR pollutants. |

But actually I think it's best to protect those areas where those people live.

| I agree that those are incredible pics. It is somewhat depressing to think that not only is deforestation driving animals out of their native homes, but people too. I'm curious about their health and fitness levels like another poster mentioned, but I really hope they're left alone. |

| And what is that guy doing with white tennis shoes?.....the one pointing at the sky with his bow and arrow

Ponce: I don't think the image quality is good enough to determine if the guy has tennis shoes... Or have you found higher resolution pictures somewhere?
