Default Environmentalism Explodes: Killin' People the "Green" Way

When you need to kill a couple humans without contaminating Bambi's water hole. Environmentally Friendly Bombs:
Environmentally Friendly Bombs Planned - Yahoo! News

New explosives could be more powerful and safer to handle than TNT and other conventional explosives and would also be more environmentally friendly.
Oh the irony! What's next, land mines that grow into trees on detonation?

I know when if I were going to carpet bomb a civilian population center, I'd want to make sure the land was safe for all the deers and squirrels and stuff to move into the city after the people died.

But you know, it's a great solution and all, but maybe instead of creating "green" bombs, we could, I don't know, STOP DROPPING BOMBS ON OTHER HUMANS ALL TOGETHER?

Nah, nevermind, you're right. Bad idea.

Year 2050

President: We need to go to war with Country X. They are a terrorist nation. Their bathroom habits are a threat to our national security." (By 2050, the definition of "terrorist" includes those who use less than 3 sheets of toilet paper after a bowel movement.)

Population: No more war! Bombs kill people and harm the environment!

President: Oh no no no! You got it all wrong. See, we got these new Green Bombs that don't hurt the environment anymore.

Population: Hmm...well I guess one outta two ain't bad. Go ahead then.

Hey, if we're going to go to war the least we can do is make sure there'll still be a planet here when we're done.

I wonder if a green bomb would have been dropped on Hiroshima or Nagasaki...

That's a good point. I say wipe the whole human race out. We kind of dropped the ball that whole "Highly Evolved Creature" thing anyway. Might as well move over and let some other animal take a crack at it.

Anyone remember Genesis from Star Trek II? That was a green bomb if ever there was one.

Ahh yes...reorganizing all matter in a nebula, thats a green bomb that is...

I think a green bomb is a good idea, however I don't see how it would work. It reminds me of the "Blue-Rinse" in the Artemis Fowl books, anyone young enough to have read those? By Eoin Colfer (pronounced Ee-yan)

Depends on what you want it to do. If you want a device that can blow things up without harming the environment, it probably wouldn't work. In fact it seems kind of ironic.

If you want a device that will make war seem more tolerable to the people, using "green" bombs is the way to do it. Especially since the vast majority of the people don't understand irony.

Now now, that might be taking it a little far. But I am biased. Y'know, because I kind of want to live the duration of my natural life. When I'm dead the rest of you can go to hell. (I mean that in the most loving way possible.)
