| Apparently a terrorist group who injured 200 people last month by blowing up a mosque in Shiraz were financially supported by the US and Britain. Iran says to sue U.S. and Britain over mosque blast.

| 1) What's wrong with the story? 2) The US has provided weapons and funding to plenty of organizations in the past that are terrorist in nature. We've put dictators in power. We are not innocent.

| We were also the ones who trained and outfitted Bin Laden, in Afghanistan, during the Cold War. When the Ruskies moved in, we left him high and dry. I'd hate us too -- except I'd have way more style about it. |

If it is actually true that the US funded this group (it sure wouldn't surprise me), then it is wrong nomatter how you look at it. Practice what you preach. We preach freedom and anti-"terrorism", yet have funded terrorist groups in the past and probably still do today. If the terrorist group is an enemy of an enemy than they are your friend, hence why we do it, but how can we talk about how bad terrorism is when we are funding it? | There is a really good reason we are being terrorized as a nation. Our government, now playing the shocked surprised martyr, sowed those seeds years ago and continues to do so. Accountability goes both ways. But don't be fooled. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is doing this to poke a stick at his enemies from the US and Britain for his amusement. Jennifer |

The fact that the US gave weapons to the innocent Afganistan people who were fending off the Russians is simply not the same as giving money to those that would bomb civilian targets intentionally. Ok so the US helped fend the Russians off but didn't stay there to build things back up. Maybe it wasn't the right decision but to say we deserved retaliation for it is obsurd. | Dan, who has a deep heart I am sure has a very liberal left wing frame of thinking from reading his writings and I'm sure he'll admit to this. I think what I am really going to enjoy in the coming year is watching Californians pay $8+ a gallon at the pump because of all the environmental controls they now have that other states don't have to put up with, and Dan's kind of thinking is what is going to put them there. Global warming as most of us know is not man-made and this year has been one of the coolest in the last century. If the heavy tax burden, pro gay marriage laws, a blind eye towards illegal immigration and abuse, and now paying a lot more at the pump than necessary doesn't send them flying across state to Nevada I don't know what else will. You've got to love it. |

No matter what your beliefs, the way you responded to Dan was uncalled for in my opinion. And due to his vocal support of Ron Paul, I wouldn't put him in the Liberal Left camp. We don't all have to agree about these issues, but I think we can all agree that respecting others' opinions and passions is a worthy goal.

| Aspiring I didn't say anything derogatory about Dan. I just said I didn't expect anything else from him. I think you might be the one who is negative. As I remember reading from my early elementary classes the Earth has gone through several ice ages for the last several million years and use to be a solid piece of ice before man was even a thought. How come this ice melted if man-made global warming didn't exist? Is it logical to to believe that the Earth warms naturally? Last edited by Amadeus : 05-16-2008 at 02:56 PM. |

| this is just Ahmedinejad smelling weakness at the heart of the West and kicking them in them shin. Folding to this guy in any way shape or form would be a huge mistake. But yeah, death to the Great Satan for destroying the world and all that... |

In fact, just about everything here in Northern California is better. The area is much more peaceful, scenic and progressive. You mentioned environmental controls, we do have strict ones here. But you should understand that by enforcing environmental controls green-collar jobs are created. Have you visited the bay area Amadeus?

| Dan? please have a plan to leave Ca. WTSHTF........ that will not be a very nice plact to be at when it happens, I used to live in Anaheim and in 2000 moved up the mountain and into the woods of OR. I could never again live with people around me or tall buildings, rather have wild animals and tall trees.
