Personally, I really don't care if anybody believes in thetans or Xenu, but the CoS has caused alot of harm and continues to do so.

I followed this when it was fresh and had momentum. I am very concerned about actual and potential damage to human lives by scientology.

I predicted on my blog that the anti-scientology activism would die down quickly because of the character of those mounting it. It seems like I was right (your links do not all point to live sites). I do hope that scientology will die down too as more and more people enter the information age. Information is the best form of anti-scientology.

Wow, I'm surprised that this was nearly a year ago. As far as I know they're still active and still protest regularly. I mostly followed it on the Something Awful forums, but as I understand it most of the organizing and whatnot is done on IRC and the *chans. Enturbulation, one of the original boards I posted, used to be where all the protests were planned and discussed, but I have no idea what happened to them.

Here's a link to the most recent thread on SA, which came after three threads with about 200 pages each. It was created in April but the OP is updated pretty frequently. After a cursory reading of the last few pages it appears that they are indeed still active.

There's an Anonymous group still operating in Nashville. Their last mailing was a couple of weeks ago, with protests still planned. The scale is reduced, and there is much less support from the "chans" who originally sparked the groups.

In case you didn't know, the CoS requires large sums of money to remain a member and to advance "spiritually." They promote their most famous and wealthy members just for good PR. My guess as to why they joined is because it was a bit of a fad for awhile and also the spiritual claims made by the church.

I've heard (with no supporting evidence) that the CoS uses special outreach tactics with celebs, including a much more glamorous and toned down version of Scientology. Often, they pay vast sums of money to hold events intended to hook the celebrities, and engineer the entire environment to cater to the whims and weaknesses of the celeb's psyche.
