Haven't seen his movie or read his book so I can't really comment on them. But I'm not sure how much weight a Nobel Peace Prize carries anymore. After Henry Kissinger and Yassar Arafat won them, that pretty much soured the process in my eyes...

And no doubt there will be a tremendous belittling outcry from the Right Wingdings, disputing the award to Gore.

Did you know that Alfred Nobel invented dynamite?

Of that, I have no doubt. I imagine Rush Limbaugh will lift his head out of the drug-filled trough and Ann Coulter will take a few minute of her "single women shouldn't get to vote" rant to attack the whole Nobel process.

Alfred Nobel once met a good woman that was into the peace movement and felt so bad for inventig the dynamite that he invented the Peace prize as a way of honoring her. The rest of the prizes are indeed interesting today. the prize in litterature is given to a lady who is at least in Sweden by 80% just read by women and males just say "who is Doris Lessing??" And don't forget the medicine prize of this year, that went to scientists who does loads of tests on mice and rats and without those tests we would know very little about diabetes and cancer. This year turns out to be the year when I understand what most of the prizes are about and that most of them are controversial indeed...
