I have plans of getting a "voice activated typing software" and wanted to know some opinions from someone who actually uses it or anyone else who knows about it. I'd like to know: 1. Does it type as fast as you speak? 2. Does it type 40wpm or 60wpm; more or less? 3. Any positive/negative opinions about it? Thank you kindly Last edited by Power; 08-27-2007 at 09:34 AM. |

It works but I found it easier to type than it was to speak in a manner which allowed the software to accurately recognize my speech. There is quite a bit of training involved in getting good output. In the end I decided it was not for me. I suspect some others may love the same product. | |

There is a lot of training involved, but it's actually worth it if you keep at it. The important thing is to train the software exactly as you want to be able to speak when you are using it. If you speak slowly and enunciate super-clearly during training, then you will have to continue to do so when you utilize the software. It's very important during training to speak exactly as you want to be able to speak during normal use.
