Hi. We've talked about stumbleupon here and the kind of impact that it can have on webtraffic. There has also been some discussion of stumblexchange, a website which hooks up people who want hits directed to their websites and has them give each other thumbs up. I had tried stumblexchange, and got a ton of hits, but I felt that the system was not at all in line with what I valued, and was in fact forcing me to walk all over my ideals for the sake of hits. I've decided that it's not worth it, as I feel like crap giving thumbs up to porn and sites that have no real value, but are only peppered with ads. I've gotten rid of all of my friends from stumblexchange, and I'm no longer using the service. I only have a handful of stumbleupon friends left, most of whom I got here. I have a feeling that others here feel as I do, so I'd like to start a stumblers group here for people who write about self improvement, entrepreneurship, and other worthwhile goals. I feel that stumbleupon has enormous potential for good. Truly valuable content will get tumbs uped, and so more people will see it. Content that is all style and no substance will be brought down as well. I want to use stumbleupon to help us spread the word about our own good content, and create a voting block of like minded people. This is how I think it should work, but I'm open to suggestions. First, everyone submits their stumbleupon profile page, which I will post in the first post of another thread. We also get everyone that we know with similar goals but might not be a member of the forum and invite them to participate. We can also advertise by mentioning the group in our blogs. Conscious people with no pages of their own are welcome to join as well. We would create a group of friends who feed each other worthwhile content. I was thinking that along with our friends page we would submit one permanent pagefor other members to check out. Anyone that wants to be your friend would have to check out this site, but they would not have to give it a thumbs up unless they though it was deserved (though this would be highly suggested). I'm not incredibly familiar with the service's mechanics, but I think that there would need to be continuous thumbs up to continue to drive interested traffic. I thought we could do this by adding one new page each week (removing the old one) or every other week which would go below the permanent page. What do you guys think? I'm open to any alterations or suggestions. Anyone interested in joining can submit their info in the style of the following post. Thanks, -Andrew

I was thinking the first post of the new thread, which would have the roll of all members to let you avoid searching through tons of pages, would look something like this. Andrew (Doc Holliday) Profile Page (Use this to ad me as a friend. Lifecrafting Permanent Link (In this case, my blog page) The Power and Peril Of Anger Weekly/ Bi Weekly best article
