I joined the Bloggeries forums about 2 weeks ago now. As Rob says, it will send some traffic to your blog and the links certainly won't harm your blog

Hi ZHereford, You're welcome to come hangout but unfortunately it's exclusively for blogs. However I think your site could be improved by adding a blog. It will bring in traffic from blog search engines and put you in the blogosphere. All and every website can benefit from a blog.
