| I wonder just how many people are on this thread, and how big a friend/fan count you would have if everyone added you as a friend? You can add me at StumbleUpon » jasonivers's web site reviews and blog if you want... I think I have 11 fans right now. Oh, and I promise nothing vulgar or offensive will show up from looking at my StumbleUpon page. |

| Gosh I wish I'd found this thread earlier. It's like a whole list of great and active self-improvement sites in one spot. Here's a couple of my own posts that might be of interest for being Stumbled, while I check out many of the links here I hadn't come across before. | My article, 7 Quick Tips To Make Your Wife Happy has passed 5000 visitors, the majority of them from StumbleUpon. Thank you very much for your votes, your thoughts, and your support. I'm really happy about it... I wanted to reach 5000 visitors for one page, along with 500 subscribers (although thankfully I didn't mention that one to my wife... no deadlines, though I guess I would have made it anyway), and now I've reached that point. If you want to submit votes for it at other websites, I would certainly appreciate it, but regardless, it has already done extremely well, easily outperforming my previous high (and still going... going to pass 1000 visitors for the 3rd day in a row today!) and I wanted to thank you for that. PS - It's also my first article to really get any Delicious attention at all... 10 people have saved it to Delicious... I realize that's not a lot, but it's the first time it's been more than one or two. So again, thank you... this has really made me happy. Oh, and my subscriber count has gone up by 16, which might not be that much to some, but is more than a 10% increase for me... and who knows, it might go up more after today. So I'm closer to my 500 subscriber goal, too Hmm, one more thank you won't hurt... thanks! |

| Hi Jason, Just added a comment that may help nudge over subscribers. |

| I am Bibanez on SU if anybody wants to add me as a friend (how pathetic does that sound? ha ha) Erin, Jason and Interface, I just added you all as friends on my account. Jason, way to go on the success of your article! It feels so rewarding to get such a great response to something you wrote! I noticed you left some feedback on my site (plain advice)...I appreciated your suggestions, and I am trying how to change the position of my related articles (they are showing up after the comments) The social worker in me is having a really hard time figuring out the technical side of my blog at times... ha ha. | Two more from me from the last couple days: Life Outside The Box How To Deal With Negative People I've started saving up my extra articles to publish on future dates, so as to not overwhelm my subscribers, and now I have all of next week's articles written. Next week has some really good stuff coming up, so watch this space for links to good articles (or subscribe to my blog and help me reach my 500 subscribers goal!). |

| I have two new posts, one of which I thought would do really well, but didn't... and the other of which is from my heart, and the most important (to me) article I've written in some time, so I'm hoping that you will read it, and if you like it, vote for it wherever you have an account... I would really like it to reach the most people possible, and not because I want traffic, but because I really feel it is important. The important article: How To Be A Good Dad - 10 Things My Father Taught Me Quick links to vote (they're at the bottom of the article, too, but why not make it easy?) Vote At Reddit Vote At Digg The other still useful article: 5 Quick Ways To Refocus And Release Stress In 3 Minutes Or Less PS - I don't know if it's bad form to post the reddit/digg voting links on here, but this article really means a lot to me, so... if you guys don't think that's cool, let me know, and I won't do it again. | Jason- I liked the article about things you learned from your dad... stumbled it. I wrote one awhile back called "8 Things My Parents Taught Me About Marriage" that you might like. I posted a new article today, part of my series on building positive and engaging relationships... "The Power of Unconditional Positive Regard". Thanks in advance for taking time to read my stuff, and stumble if you like it.

| Thank you, Brooke, and I will read your article tomorrow... I don't have SU installed on this machine and don't want to bother to install it tonight, so it will have to wait until morning. By the way, thank you guys for your support. I am happy to report that I have received very nearly triple the traffic today of my previous biggest day, with the numbers almost certain to pass 7000 visitors before the day is over, and traffic really hasn't slowed down all that much. This is my first experience with doing well on anything other than StumbleUpon, and I'm happy with the traffic from Reddit. They seem to be polite, and are leaving intelligent, thoughtful comments. I've also received the most diggs I've ever received, but that doesn't take much, and I only have 14 or 15 or something. Still, over 4000 from Reddit, and well over 2000 from StumbleUpon... I'd say this article did (and is still doing) very well. And I'm really happy that it's this particular article, because I believe that being a good dad is extremely important, AND because it lets all those visitors know how much I love my dad. |

| I just want to know, those traffic increase our $ ? or only increase reader & comments?

| Yes, it generates more money... essentially more traffic = more clicks = more money. But I don't do it for the money, anyway, though I like to make it. By the way, I have two more articles for you... not particularly asking for votes this time, though they are always welcome, just thought I'd share: Why "Time Is Money" Is Wrong The Amazing Power Of Posture - This one actually hasn't been published as of the time of this comment, but it will be a 9:00 AM Pacific... or about an hour and ten minutes. |

| Hey SU friends. I have been seriously slacking on my blogging for the past two weeks. We are in the process of buying/building a new home! So I have been a little preoccupied. Looking forward to seeing more of all of your work! Brooke

| I've joined up with StumbleUpon and--I'm confused as to how it all really works. I understand that you have people stumble your article ( still trying to figure out what "You will also need to URL encode the URL and your title" ?? for putting the icon on my website -what exactly am I doing?? I do know some css and html I just don't understand, am I adding a link to it, thought that was what I did when I put in my url for the website and article title in the stumble code. What am I missing?) Okay a bit off track there-- now I get to the site and I see a bunch of pictures, but I want to get to articles. And they tell you to join groups and write articles, are these different from the ones on my site? I know you can jump to keywords but where would I find the articles you guys have put up for instance? Lost and stumbling around, and not in a good way |

| It's been a while since I have posted here, but I have been reading many of your blogs. Keep up the great work. Here's my latest, and possibly the most controversial, blog post: My Take On World Peace | Small-town Big-shot Last edited by JimC : 10-27-2007 at 08:24 AM. |

| DrMartinRussell-thanks for the reply. I'm using notepad right now. I was trying to put the little icon from Stumble on the bottom of my posts. It seemed simple, just copy and paste the code. I filled it all in changing the web url for mine and the article name. Piece of cake. Then the instructions said to make sure you Url encoded the url and the title, wait (smacks forehead, I hear you shouldn't do that too often or you could get dumber) does it mean I'm adding h t t p plus the rest of the url((ok tried to put in the h t t p thingee and it added in the url for steve's blog, nice but not what I was looking for)) excetra to the code where my url and article name goes. Man I did that, so all this was for nothing???? If so why didn't they just put the http bit in the code section to be changed and not confuse those of us who insist on complicating everything. Thanks DrM. Now if I could figure where any articles I stumble show up besides in my favorites. Last edited by Tayrak : 10-27-2007 at 12:10 PM. |
