I would like to have a single page on my new website be a blog-like page with new entries for new products that come out in my niche.

All I need is to be able to post new entries that will show up on the page ordered by date, with the most recent being first. Ideally the entries would consist of a picture of the product with a short description next to it, and a link to the full page on my site about that product.

I realize I could easily make this with regular html that does not actually function like a blog, but I was just wondering if anyone knows of a free source of html/php code that already accomplishes this "mini-blog" sort of feature.

Sounds like a wordpress install with a minimalist theme would be the quickest/easiest way to accomplish what you're looking for.

I agree that Wordpress is a great option. What you would do is make most pages using the pages function, and then choose the page that you want to function as a blog. It's pretty simple once you get into it.
