I want to start a blog to basically track my progress on my goals. The thing is right now I don't have the money to be able to afford self hosting, so I was going to just use a free blog (either blogger or wordpress) in the meantime. However, I do eventually want to have my own self hosting, and was wondering about transferring the data from the free blog to my eventual self hosted blog. I've been researching this, so I know the data can be transferred. Where I get confused is what to do with the old free blog. Should I just delete it, so as to prevent duplicate content? Do I pay to have the free blog redirect to my new blog, and if so for long? Or, do I just simply let the free blog "die" from disuse, but leave it up for the world to view? |

Yes, you can move from blogger to self-hosted WordPress easily. Detailed steps here: Moving from Blogger to a self-hosted Wordpress blog: An easy Guide Not sure where the export option is in the new interface, but nonetheless, you can just switch to old interface when you want to export later and the steps in the link I mentioned will guide you. |
