I just signed up for ClickBank and I am thoroughly confused. I have found a couple of products that I would like to promote. When I click on Promote I get the hoplink which is nothing more than a link saying "Click Here". I don't get it. Is it my job to create an advertisement for the product? Certainly I'm not going to just put "Click here" on my website and leave it at that. Advice?

Affiliate marketing is much more difficult that simply taking a product and placing it on your website. There isn't a specific way to do it, but the most common method is to select a niche, build a mailing list of people interested in the niche, and then marketing related affiliate products to that list. How you build that list is up to you. Alternatively, you could try to sell directly off the website, but you'd need a quite a lot of traffic and therefore useful and relevant content in order for that to work. You can do this explicitly (eg. write product reviews) or you could try being a bit less conspicuous (eg. mentioning a book you read in a blog post and use your affiliate link for the title of that book). Just in case you didn't know... visit the site of the product and scroll down. Most of them will have affiliate pages and when you click to sign up it takes you to clickbank. On some they will have banners and other various material to help you market their product. Having those resources certainly helps. You still have to do what William said as well of course.

You're welcome! I was poking around on William's site, very good example to work from as well as sage advice. However, remember to always be yourself, even if you're only showing a "slice" of who you are. Hope it works out for you.
