Either you figure it out to do it yourself via the Google Webmaster interface or Google Analytics or it probably won't done. Pro Webmasters - Stack Exchange is probably a good website to ask how it's done.

Hmm, I'm really surprised! Even Yahoo! provides free live customer service online for their no-cost e-mail accounts! Okay, I guess I'll change my question (or should I start a new thread?), then, to: Does anyone know how to get Google Webmaster Tools or Google Analytics to point to the current non-www version of my site?? Maybe I should just create whole new accounts -- or would that seem weird to Google vis-à-vis SEO?? |

Okay, I finally found the answer: it doesn't matter to Google's tools! https://www.google.com/support/forum...91f75f5c&hl=en and https://www.google.com/support/forum...533afd60&hl=en |

It's also fairly easy to force your domain to default to the non-www form. All of my domains do that (because I find the www convention silly). If you type the domain name with the www, it will just be forced to the other, automatically. Here's more information: Force users to use the WWW or Non-WWW version of your domain - Htaccess Basics |

Thanks, CaterpillarWoman! I actually found the .htaccess info from none other than no-www.org, but I was afraid how Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools would work given the changes. Thank Goodness they're smart enough to not penalize anyone! |

Wait a minute -- I'm really confused now! Are you saying www.abc.com and just plain abc.com are different to Google?? Also not sure what you mean by that "custom search engine" reference.... Please elaborate!
