Default Search keywords?

Here is some code for a site I made. For some reason it is not showing up in search engines. Can somebody look at the code and tell me if they can see the problem?

I'm no expert but two things are clear:

1) Meta keywords should be comma separated.
2) Your page has no content.

But other than that your page won't just show up in search engines because it's published. For starters your site needs to contain relevant content, and other sites need to link to it.

If you post a link to your site, and tell us what search queries you're using, someone more knowledgeable than me might be able to help.

Getting indexed in search engines is no easy task and it takes a bit of research. What Mark meant by no content is that your homepage is just an image map. There is no "content" such as keywords and descriptions that tell a search engine about what content is on your site. Something to note is that search engines take very little notice of META keywords nowadays, its all based on the content that is visible to your users. So basically, the only visible content available to your uses is a picture, which of course search engine can't see. One way of making an image map more useful is to put an ALT and TITLE tags on each link. For example....

Code:
<area shape="rect" coords="3,2,156,22" href="foodintolerance.htm"
 alt="Food Intolerance" title="Food Intolerance">
(TITLE is what makes those little tooltips popup when you hover over something)

ALT and TITLE just give some explanation as to where that link actually goes.

There is a lot more to it than that (such as back linking and advertising), but have a read of this article...

How Google Ranks Websites

Its not technical and doesn't explain everything, but when you are researching more on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) you will have a understanding of what it is you are actually trying to do.

The "Keywords" meta tag was rendered obsolete around the turn of the century. Using it now is a perfect waste of time. My best advice to you would be to forget it ever existed.

Because you have no links and no content. What would it show up for? How would the search engines know? Why would it show before the millions of other pages on the same subject?

I do have links and content. The links are towards the bottom of the page and the content is all the images and the sentence " are as unique as the food you require"

No, not you having links on your page. You need other sites to link to yours because they like it. Do you have those?

Did you not read my above post JeremyW?

I explained how you have "no content". Also...."You are as unique as the food you require" says nothing about what is on your site.

You may want to try creating a google sitemap for your web page and submit it to both google and yahoo.
