Default Is this laptop good deal?

Amazon.com: Presario CQ62-219WM WQ778UAR 15.6" LED Notebook - Celeron 900 2.20 GHz - Matte Black (Refurbished): Electronics

I was wondering if refurbished computers have warranty.

It's not an awesome machine, but that's a low price. What do you need it for and how much do you have to spend?

To find out about the warranty, I would contact Compaq.

Terrible

1) Celeron

2) $300?

3) Refurbished/Used?

Man that's an ultra crappy deal. Shop at newegg.

Newegg.com - Laptop Computers, Notebooks

What will you be using the computer for?

For running multiple apps and 1080 movies. MY Macbook gets hot too often.
For apps, evernote, Skype, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, with multiple tabs in each, with out the computer lagging or making big fan noises.

The price range that I'm looking for, maybe in the 300s to 500s at most and I want a warranty plan substantially cheaper than the AppleCare plan which is $350 per two years. I suppose Best Buy would have a better warranty deal?

Check craigslist, a client of mine just got a decent toshiba for 275.00.

That celeron is what bothers me about the deal you posted. I'd surly check new egg.com as 180 suggested.

Well laptop heat is inevitable. All laptops have heat problems and the only exception I can think of is the extreme slim Vaio models but those cost upwards of $3000+

But for your purposes something like this is suitable. It seems you are more price concerned than anything so for the stability, it's a good buy. Acer is great. I'm not biased but I bought one myself and I've had for 3 years and I've brought it with me for travel, abused the hell out of it. Played games on it, used a transformer on it, and left it on for weeks. They build really reliable laptops.

Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS5733Z-4445 Notebook Intel Pentium P6100(2.00GHz) 15.6" 3GB Memory DDR3 1066 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel HD Graphics

Here's a review of one. And for the processor it reaches a mark of 1522 on passmark. Which is even higher than core 2 duo....

Which is light years ahead of a celeron....

There are other great laptop selections on the site, but this is just one that I found that had spectacular specs for the price and good user reviews.

I have a Toshiba Satellite and it runs super cool, like a little cucumber.

I'm only slightly exaggerating. I'm sitting with it on a blanket on my lap right now. My old Thinkpad would have been blistering but this Toshiba is barely warm to the touch.

No, it's not a good deal.

1) My roommates purchased $350 laptops that have pentiums (an entire league above celeron), with 4GB of ram and Intel HD graphics (integrated, but still good).

2) The laptop you posted is refurbished. You can easily find a better laptop for the same price, or even cheaper.

3) The seller looks shady. Only 1 rating, few details, stock picture.

Find something else.

Thank you, I see it's cheap too, about 350:
