From the beginning, I noticed... reading the various Positive discussions here, I am interested in participating in, that in LINEAR-mode could only see 5 responses max (even when a thread obviously has many more) - Then in HYBRID-mode, about 20 responses are seen. - But soon, no matter how many times I click on "More replies below current depth..." nothing

shows up. -- I reported this trouble to staff here 2-3 years ago, as
I never have this trouble on any other Forum I participate in, only here

To remedy that, what Successful

suggestions can you offer...

Hmmm... I have no idea what's going on. I've reported this post in case another mod has a better idea. Hopefully we can get it sorted out for you!

I have never had any trouble viewing all the threads. With Windows and Ubuntu Homepage | Ubuntu running on my comp. using Opera Opera browser | Faster & safer internet | Free download and other browsers on both . desert rat

I think this forum does run a bit slow as there a lot of people using it. If Ubuntu is not your "cup of tea " there are other distros DistroWatch.com: Put the fun back into computing. Use Linux, BSD. desert rat

Okay, threaded mode is working for me. When I click on More Replies below this depth, a scroll window appears and if I scroll down and click on those replies, I can see them.

I don't understand why you cannot see the replies even in linear mode.
It would be helpful to see the screenshot.

Okay. When I go to control panel and set display option to hybrid, it does not work for me either. But if I set it using the option that is at the top of the thread under display modes, it works.

Could be a strange bug in Vbulletin.

I can't see MOST

posts in threads, on this Forum, no matter which of the 3 Modes I use.
By experimenting these almost 3 years, I've learned...
1. Linear-mode, past post 5, is a total lost cause.
2. Threaded-mode is a close 2nd.
3. Hybrid-mode works the best; but even in this,
on most threads, all I get beyond 20 is "More replies
below current depth..."
But no matter how many times I click on "More replies below current depth..." nothing

shows up.

Including my own posts...also DISappear

Is that a blessing?

You mean I can Change something in my User CP - that will self-correct?

Yes, Hybrid has been my only viable option; somewhat.

No, the opposite. can you try changing the display option from the top of the thread, under display modes and see if it repeats?

"Yes": to your question, I must fiddle with EACH-thread I check,
many (over 10 times) many... times, hoping to read at least parts to figger-out what's going on.

No I have not changed anything.

So when the hybrid mode is set from user panel, it is not working for anyone. But at least the linear mode is working for the rest of us except you.

'Anyone' includes me too, right -so HYBRID-mode like I said worked the best for me.

Hybrid Mode - This is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes.

This underlined part, is why I prefer this HYBRID-mode best;
unfortunately, I can't get it to display past the 6th. post. - Can this puzzle be "solved"?

I prefer linear mode but I guess it's an individual preference. Not sure about the mystery of hybrid mode but will let you know if I come across something.

Just to let you know, that for some reason (no idea what),
this problem seemed to resolve itself, this past week in my favorite

Hybrid-mode.
