Default Question about using proxy servers

I have used hidemyass' proxy list to manually configure my proxy settings.
However I cannot access many sites, and the following note appears:

You are trying to use a node of the CoDeeN CDN Network. Your IP address is not recognized as a valid PlanetLab address, so your access to CoDeeN does not include all HTTP types
Can someone translate this into English for me , and maybe tell me what I am doing wrong...

i've read somewhere that someone had no problems using proxies on firefox while the same proxies produced this error on chrome. so perhaps you could try it on a different browser.

i'm not an expert of codeen proxies, but another problem could be that you're trying to access websites that are restricted by codeen (read more about this in 'security' list at the bottom of CoDeeN -- A CDN on PlanetLab)

alternatively, perhaps you could try other proxies from the list (codeen proxies tend to have port numbers 312x, so look for proxies with different ports)

hopefully some of these random ideas could be of help

Thank you very much for your ideas.

I have switched to using TOR. Here again I don't get it. Even if I press a button to "change to a new identity", I am still logged in with my same user name on the forums I visit (e.g. this forum). Shouldn't I have a "new" IP-address, and therefore the website would not know, who I am...and ask me to log in again?
