Default How to use google analytics with WP?

I've installed google analyticator plug-in, but google analytics doesn't show correct data (I track my traffic with Host Gator tools). Am I missing something? How can I make Google Analytics work on my blog?

Thank you!

Hi Agota

I recommend that you don't use a plugin and just set up everything at the Google Analytics website. The more plugins you have, the higher the risk of technical problems with your blog.

Follow the steps in this video: YouTube - ‪Getting Started With Google Analytics‬‏ or read this article: How to Use Google Analytics for Beginners

I hope this helps.

I highly recommend you do use the plugin. Otherwise you're going to be tracking your own visits.

Make sure you enter the entire analytics profile id. The plugin is pretty straight forward.

There no such thing as "correct data".
When you measure traffic you usually want to know how many humans visited your page. There are a bunch of ways to decide whether a visitor is a human or a bot and different services make different decisions.
