Default HP TouchSmart Tm2. Good deal, or no?

Hi,

I am in the market for a touch pad laptop and came across the HP TouchSmart Tm2.

I am very new to computers and I just wanted to know if this is a good deal for a laptop?

I am looking for a touch screen, at least a core i3 processor, because I plan on playing Civ 5 on the machine, and at a least 12" screen.

I am trying to look for the best price I can get for the features I want and wanted to know what are your opinions on the matter so I can make a better informed decision.

Gratefully looking forward to you replies,

Viet

It looks like a nice machine, but it only has an integrated Intel graphics card. This will likely be on the weak side for running Civ 5.

Btw. why do you want a touch laptop?

If it were me, I would get it for the Wacom screen, not the touch. Then again, I like to draw. I have the grand father of that computer, a HP TC4400, which I've been very happy with. It doesn't have touch, but a Wacom screen. I use it for drawing, and just about everything else except games. Like this one, the TC4400 has an underpowered Intel graphics card.

The Wacom screen and touch are probably going to cost you extra, so for the same price you could probably get a laptop without touch or Wacom, but with a better graphics card that can run Civ 5 without a hitch.
