| I am on a Apple Mac G5 with Safari as the browser. Sometimes what I create on my blog looks strange on a PC with the browser internet explorer. Since IE is no longer availible for Mac it is difficult for me to see what it will look like to most people (who are on IE). I know Firefox has a plugin that simulates IE, but it is not availible for Mac. Any ideas how I can solve this? Must I buy a PC?

| One option is Virtual PC which will allow you to run Windows within OS X. There should be other products that can do this too. It's also worth noting that Macs now run on Intel processors, so when you upgrade to a new Mac you'll be able to dual boot it with Windows using Boot Camp. | I'd also suggest putting it online and then visiting some public institution, like a library, and using their machine to check it out. Not efficient, I know. Another way is to get a Windows compatriot and ask them to send you screenshots (using SnagIt, if you need some scrolling captures). Resolution is questionable, but if that's not a big deal and your friend doesn't mind, it's pretty good.

| I currently use an old laptop running XP to do platform testing, but with the new Intel based macs there is a program available that lets you run XP like any other application, a sort of cross between Virtual PC and Bootcamp. I saw it in action the other day but can't remember what it's called though. Looked really impressive. Here's something I came up with via Google that you might be able to use: http://websitetips.com/tools/compatibility/
