I have a new blog, with not much content yet and it's not indexed with the search engines yet (as far as I know) and I haven't made links to it yet but today I got my first comment from one of my posts which I was thrilled with... But I'm wondering how they found me. Does anyone know how this would be done?

congrats! I got my first comment recently too and I also got excited

One way they could find you is to search blog posts like here

Are you using Wordpress.com, or hosting your blog somewhere else? If you have access to your site statistics, you can see how people find you by looking at the referral logs.

Install Google Analytics and it will tell you where your visitors come from.

I will install google analytics, I couldn't tell through my webhost who it was from but the actual comment had an email attached to it. I emailed the person and it came back as not existing. Plus today I got 2 spam comments that had nothing to do with my blog. I guess I have to get used to that...

yeah there are spam bots that auto comment - use spam prevention plugins if your using wordpress, or alternatives for it - so its harder for spammers to comment.

I get dozens of comments every week, mostly from spam bots! lol
