The Mycomputer icon is gone from my desktop. It's not in the trash, it's not in another part of the desktop, and a complete search of C drive turns up nothing. Can anyone tell me how to create another icon to place there? Thanks.

I'm assuming you're using Windows XP? Click on the start menu, and right-click on the MY Computer icon there and there should be a "Show on Desktop" option. |

Are you on WinXP? If so then... Right click on desktop and go to properties. Go to the desktop tab, there's a button "Customize desktop" or something similar on the bottom. Click there and it should take you to the place where you can select which icons you want to appear on the desktop and which not. |

I am using XP, but the icon is missing from there as well. In fact, the only way that I can get to the My Computer "folder" is to go into control panel and then click on the green up arrow icon which brings me to mycomputer. Thanks for the try though. Any other ideas?
