Question Problem with Firefox V.2

Hi All,

I was just wondering if any of you have upgraded to Firefox v.2 and have had problems accessing these forums?

I upgraded my firefox yesterday and it was working fine initially but for some reason today, it's works perfectly for all other sites except these forums.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I think I've figured out what the problem is.

I created a new firefox profile. I was using the store password option and for some reason that seems to make it crash.

Scratch that, even without that, when I login, It just seems to crash it.

It's not the cache...i've had to redo my entire windows profile because of a separate issue so i don't think there is even any cache to delete.

Hmmmm I'll keep trying to figure out what it is but until then...anyone thinking about upgrading their firefox, hold tight for now, unless you want to want to go ahead and do it and confirm for me that it is a general problem with firefox and not just with me.

Either way, I'll try the same on my home pc today to find out if it is Firefox.

Thanks anyway!

I also seem to remember that during my upgrade some of the conflicting extensions didn't get deleted. I've basically de-installed and reinstalled Firefox 2 and kept a subset of my extensions. Things seem to work a lot better.

I haven't had a chance to test with Firefox 2 yet (I'm using the latest 1.5 version). I'll add it to my list of bug fixes. It's possible one of the forum plugins I added is causing a compatibility issue.

I probably won't have a chance to get to this until next week though, as this week is already packed.

What I'll do is completely remove FF2 and and all the directories associated with it, re-install and see if that works.

Thanks for all your help!

Unhappy

Ok,

I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla. I also deleted any directories associated with it.

When I reinstalled the only addon/extenson was the one that came with the install which is talkback.

It's still crashing.

I'm currently posting using the seamonkey browser as my I.E. is playing up too on this site although that might be a separate issue.

I'm just about to head home so I'll try the same thing there to see if the problem replicates. I'm also going to uninstall again and download a fresh copy and see if that helps.

Do you have any unread private messages in your inbox when it crashes? If so, does it still crash if you clear out the unread PMs?

That's almost certainly a plugin acting up. I'll uninstall it by the end of the day.

Default O_o

I was having funny login issues too. Using IE Tab to view the forums atm. I'll post another reply if I do something magical and fix it, or if the problem just goes away
