As some of you might be aware, I am producing comedy videos for posting on YouTube. I need some help to get off the ground, and it is mostly marketing, sort of. I am filming the videos with the understanding that the viewership will be looking at, roughly, a three-inch square screen. First question: when you visit YouTube, do you bother to use the full screen, or just "hit-and-run"? The content of my videos are mostly sound and visual affects, and I realise small details will not be seen unless the screen is enlarged. Therefore I am planning to film with simple visuals. There are many obsticles for me at the moment, but I'm proceding in that direction, with lots of great stuff slated. ("Hoffa Quest: The Search For Jimmy" promises to be a good one). Anyone with YouTube-posting experience would be helping immensely if you'd give some pointers as to downloading, etc. though I am researching that at the moment. For the curious; yes, it will be me in the videos, doing several different charactors and studio dubbing sound affects and my own music. I am approaching this project with full knowledge that many will not like my work, others will have a great time with it. I'm not doing this for fame, I'm doing it because I can, and I love making people laugh. Some of my video work from 15 years ago will be displayed eventually. In 1995, my studio was broken into and my equipment stolen...along with 10 years of original music recordings. I'm resuming a journey, and looking forward to it. I have a DVD burner, but could use some expertise in the various DVD's available, and what works best with downloading onto the internet. Also what modifications to my computer might make things easier. Filming is being done on an 8mm camcorder. |

What I'm learning is that I need to install a video card and "fire wire" port in my computer...does anyone know about this? I have no problem getting into the computer and doing this, I just need to know what is best for transferring videos to Facebook and YouTube. Anyone with experience doing this successfully can make me beg shamelessly in order to find out good information. I grovel rather pathetically, which some might find satisfying.
