Default PHPBB anti spam plug-ins?

I've set up a forum for my website, and although it really hasn't gone "live" yet I'm already having a problem with spam. Any suggestions for minimizing this, in particular any good PHPBB plug-ins/mods that might help?

I've implemented a couple of mods and so far they've worked well. The first was just setting the admin option to require new users to confirm their email address. Since spammers seldom use a real email address they can't confirm and thus they can't post.

The other is to require new users be a member for 7 days, or to make 10 posts before they can post any URLs or website addresses. Spammers typically don't have the patience to actually contribute to a discussion, and if I see any obvious spammers that have registered (with names like "bestpharmadeals") its no problem to delete them before they're around long enough to infest my forum.

I'm going to implement a few other things, but this is a start and so far so good!
