In Steve's blog about making money with your blog (maybe where I should have posted this) he claims to use wordpress. It was my understanding that you cannot advertise on any wordpress blog. Am I confused? I was about to start my new blog on wordpress but I want to believe to profit from my deeply moving posts. I am looking for a blog templet that is easy to set up, allows advertising, and allow me to use my own domain name. Any suggestions? Much Appreciated. |

Steve is using the Wordpress software, and is hosting it on his own site. This gives him enough control that he can install advertisements into the template. If you used Wordpress's service, which requires you to host on their own site, you do not have enough control to install ads. (This is a good anti-hacking technique, so that other blogs using Wordpress's service don't go offline because of a mistake or malicious intent from another user.)

It looks like you also use wordpress on your blog, and you have ads. Do you suggest that I do as you and steve have done? What service do you recommend I use? I am not tech savvy as of yet, I want to use my own domain and have the abilitiy to put up ads. Thanks |
