UNRAR 3.60 beta 6 freeware Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Alexander Roshal

I downloaded unRarX and whenever I try to open a .Rar file, it does this:

Extracting from /Users/[username]/Downloads/HomScPermacult.rar

Have you tried it using StuffIt?

That's what it's supposed to do (not exactly user friendly). The extracted files/folders should be in the same directory as the RAR file.

I'm not sure what you mean by "unopen", but if you don't want the file you extracted, just drag it to the trash.
