Default What are the most valuable keyboard shortcuts you've found?

OK, so we all probably know ctrl+c and ctrl+v by now. But what are some other shortcut keys that you find valuable?

I'm getting in the habit of using ctrl+n (create a message) and alt+s (send a message) in Outlook to save time.

I'm sure there are a lot of others that I could be using. Any suggestions?

ctrl+alt+del and alt+F4
the first for all eventualities
the second for fast exits and a pc shutdown when pressed long enough

Windows logo + D - minimizes everything.

Alt+Space - opens the little context menu (unless you have launchy)

Honestly? Launchy is the best keyboard shortcut program dealio. Google it.

^ Check out firefox if you don't use it already. It has a feature where you basically start typing and it automatically finds the instance of what you're typing. Pretty damn useful.

I don't knwo where I found that Alt+Tab one but that is simply ingenious.
Only some weeks ago I figured out how to go from one tab to another in Firefox, in case you don't know it's Ctrl+[tab number], I don't know what happens if you have more than 9 tabs open...now I know. Just wanted to try what Ctrl+Tab does...that goes through all your tabs, very cool. And ctrl+t for new tab and ctrl+w to close a tab.
Of course ctrl+c/x/v, ctrl+n, ctrl+s, F5.
Just plain B in Winamp is also good...it's shortcut for next track.
Also, on Dell laptop, Fn+PgUp/PgDn for volume control.

Should be all now, don't use Win+D or Ctrl+E myself but knew the latter one before this (very useful) thread.

LOL yeah i love that short cut to flip through windows programs. I use it all the time. I have been using since win 95 days i think.. maybe win 98. I forget how i found it.. i think i was messing around and read an e-book online of over 1000 windows short cuts. i started using them

Today i use probably about 300 short cuts on a daily basis (wow i open my mouth and more and more geek just comes right out lol)

i almost forgot one. Cntl + S .. to save things before windows gives you the BSOD.

I love firefox short cuts. and i love to flip through tabs that way too, unlike you, i read the doc and parts of the code for the browers to figue it out. probably would have been easier to try it like you did lol

and i agree with Shaden as well. I love control + z..

For anyone intersted in vista, to flip thru the pretty stuff you dont use alt + tab the way you do in windows. You can still use alt + tab and it gives you a screen that you are used to (but now you can use it with arrows and a mouse, which leads me to wonder, why in the world would one use a key board short cut then pick up their hand to use a mouse????) anyway, to flip thru the GUI of programs it is windows + alt + tab

But hey, where's the fun in that approach? I never bother to RTFM for any program, I just go and mess around and find stuff my own way. That means I never use the F1 button.

Hmm, most useful keyboard shortcuts...

Well, if you're using Windows, probably:
Windows-E - open Explorer
Windows-F - to search your drive
Windows-R - to launch programs and things via keyboard rather than via clicky-clicky
Windows-L - lock your computer
Alt-F4 - close current program
Ctrl-F4 - close current document

And I thought why they don't do anything...

One more: Shift+Enter for going onto new line in msn conversations.

I love it. I like it so much that I am starting to wish I could use that in real life. Like when I dont know where my cellphone is, somewhere under my notes, I find myself thinking Ctrl+F.. ..or while studying when I need to look for a certain term on a page, I wish there was a Ctrl-F function.

Heh, my first post was similar, only with Linux (KDE) shortcuts. Then I thought better of it and edited.

It irritates me when people just assume Windows...

P.S. The Windows shortcut for 'show desktop' is Windows_Key + D
