Default Grr, my wordpress sidebar menu dropped down

Im using Wordpress Misty theme.

I made an update to my blog this morning which caused my whole sidebar to drop down to the bottom of my main page in IE. I deleted the post and my sidebar was restored. I tried remaking the post and it dropped down again.

This is extremely frusterating. Does anyone know what about this particular post could be causing this to happen?

More than likely there is an issue with your Style sheet. I have had the same issue happen to me on my blog.

My guess it has something to do with the padding or width attribute in your blog post.

I wrote a post on dynimicially debugging CSS with Firefox:

FireFox Hacker - Edit your CSS on the fly

Try putting the post back and tweak your css.

Additionally if you need to run wordpress on your local box download and install apache friends - xampp for windows. It is a standalone apache server, php processor and mysql install for windows. All you need to do download wordpress and you are good to go.

I've used this before when making major changes to my blog.

Hope this helps

Cheers!

Just a quick test... Find this section:
Code:
#container {

	border: #ccc 1px solid;

	background: #fff;

	margin: 0 auto;

	width: 780px;

	position: relative;

	text-align: left;

}
and change the width to 790px. If it fixes it, resize it down incrementally until it breaks again, and you'll know what setting works right.

Oh, phew, fixed! Dwane, I'll look into that Firefox Hacker. It definitely looks handy for future use. And Adam, using that adjustment worked like a charm.

Thanks so much for rescuing my blog. If I had to scroll down into the abyss one more time to reach my admin controls, I was ready to scream. ;p

No problem. I've been reading your blog for a couple months now, and I couldn't just let it sit by in a half-broken state.
