Default Maximum Depth of Folder Structure

Does anyone know the maximum depth of a folder structure which command line can go?

I have had a major issue copying/deleting deeply nested files until I realised the problem!

(Windows XP OS - but using the Command Prompt window).

I think there a 256 character limit for addressing a foder.
