Default Slow Keyboard

Okay, this is perhaps a stupid question, but can I make my laptop keyboard respond better to my touch?

Currently when I type up to speed, it cannot keep up with me and I have to go back over each sentence to replace characters which are missing.

What brand/model of laptop? Do you experience the problem with an external USB keyboard.

I find the best keyboards for typing fast are the old "buckling spring" IBM ones, but that may be of no help to you given this a laptop.

I had a similar problem last year before I switched to Mac.

I had this help page bookmarked, maybe it helps you...

Woo! I fixed it! I went under control panel and changed the repeat delay from long to short. It is better, not perfect, but much better now.

It is an HP laptop which I bought a few months ago. Recently, I decided to switch to Mac, so I won't be using it much longer but since I type so much it was worth looking into this.

Thank you both for your answers.
